Officiating in big time games of any sport is always an incredibly difficult job. This past football season from a critical pass interference call in the Super Bowl, to a replay overturn of a touchdown in the Michigan vs TCU national college playoff semi final, officiating, more than I can ever remember, has been in the cross hairs in criticism. If you are a fan, I know you've had your moments of outrage or disbelief regarding a call against your team or for the opponent. Maybe it's because of social media or the massive amounts of attention these games receive that it's seemingly becoming more noticeable. Or, is it that the quality of officiating has not elevated itself to the quality and speed of the play on the field. It's worth discussing, don't you think? And, there isn't anyone better than my friend Dick Honig, a lifetime official and referee, who loved his job, to chat about the guys in the striped shirts. He's dedicated his life to the profession, and he is well aware of the criticism that's been increasing over the past few years. He's honest and straightforward about it all in this Conversation with...Dick Honig
