The sport of boxing in the city of Detroit has a rich history. From the days of the "Brown Bomber" Joe Louis, to the incredible career of Thomas "The Hit Man" Hearns and beyond, Detroit has been a mecca of the sweet science. The Kronk Gym, which dominated the sport in Detroit under the guidance of the incomparable Emanuel Steward, was the standard for amateur boxing across the nation for a while. And, while boxing is not the sport it used to be, it has not disappeared. It is actually making a bit of a comeback, and finding a niche in the 21st century. To talk about that, we introduce you to a young man who believes in boxing. He loves the sport and promotes it, and embraces its fabulous history in his hometown. A former boxer himself, Scotty Buchzeiger, is an unabashed fan and supporter. He wants to see the game grow, and return to a position of respect and prominence in the world of sports. His enthusiasm for boxing is clearly evident whenever he talks about it. He literal;ly lights up, so sit back and get an update on boxing in my Conversation with...Scotty Buchzeiger...
